Green Team 2016/17
This year's Green Team are very excited to get started on our 7th green flag! This year we will be looking at the theme "Global Citizenship - Energy". Each member of the green team has been given a special job to make sure our school is looking after the environment as best we can!
Green Flag Awards
We were delighted to be invited to The Helix to receive our 6th green flag this week. We had a great day out.
Junk Art Competition
A huge well done to all the classes who participated in our junk art competition. Every class did a super job and the green team were so impressed with all the effort put in. All the participants were given a little treat as it was so hard to pick a winner. Congratulations to the overall winners; room 9 in junior infants and room 5 in senior infants. A big thanks to all the teachers who took part.

Great news Surprised
We got great news this week that our school will receive our 6th green flag next month. Congratulations to all the green team members who have been working so hard this year.
 Litter Picking
A big well done to all the boys and girls in the Infant School for taking part in our litter picking day. Some great team work took place around the school to ensure our school is squeaky clean, just in time for Earth Day on 22nd April.

The BIG TRAVEL challenge update
Well done to room 10 who had the highest percentage of children who walked to school during our travel challenge. "Stop pollution in the air, walk to school because we care!"

Keen to be Green!

Junior Infants are learning all about what it means to go to a green school. They have been learning how they can take care of their environment and different things they can do in school to help! Room 10 had a poster competition for our Litter Awareness Day. All the entries were super. A big well done to our 3 winners.

A big well done to all the 1st class who entered our "BE WATER SMART" poster competition. All the posters were fantastic, it was hard to pick just 3 winners from each class. The posters were so good that the green team are going to display them on the corridor for everyone to see. They have some great reminders for being water smart so keep an eye out. Congratulations to the winners in rooms 1 and 2.

The BIG TRAVEL challenge

1st February - 12th February 2016

This February our school is taking part in Green School’s BIG TRAVEL challenge and we need your help! We are hoping to increase the number of children who walk to school every day. From 1st February-12th February we will be noting the number of children who walk to school. Green Schools will be judging schools based on the increase of students walking to school over the two week period.

The winning school will win €1,000 and four runners up will win €500!

The class with the biggest increase in the Infant school will also win a prize!
