Blue Light Day/ Green Flag day
What a fun filled day we all had in the Infant School today as our school yard was transformed into an exhibition of a variety of vehicles from the emergency services. It all began as pupils, teachers,SNA's waited in anticipation to see if the Garda helicopter would be given clearance to land.First class pupils gave the all clear on the Garda radio and it was all systems go.Pupils watched as the Garda helicopter hovered around the building circling around many times before it eventually came to land in the school yard.Everone held on tight as the wind swept with the power of the descent. The Gardai were in force to ensure that all landed safely.Pupils were then treated to a fun filled exhibition of Fire trucks, an American fire truck,Squad car, garda horses, motor bikes, and even a demonstration of an emergency car rescue.Pupils learnt a lot about our emergency services today and the enormous work they do.I think we have some budding Guards,Firefighters amongst us.Thanks to Garda Paul for organising the entire event. The pupils have made some amazing memories.
